Kayo Mpoyi, born in 1986, lives in Stockholm. She has studied at the renowned writer’s school Biskops-Arnö and currently works as a media producer. Her debut novel Mai Means Water was published in 2020 and won the Katapult Prize for best debut.

Her children’s book debut Kitoko came in 2022, illustrated by Linn Grebäck.
