The Wound/Såret

Emma AdBåge is a master at capturing life in a schoolyard: the games, the friendships, the group dynamics. The Wound is about being in the center of things, about being visible and suddenly being the one that everybody wants to talk to. It’s exciting and wonderful to get all that attention, but what happens after that, when the wound heals? Who cares about a little scar?

AbBåge debuted in 2001 and has since illustrated several titles, both her own and others. She has won several awards, including the Elsa Beskow Plaque and the Lennart Hellsing Prize. In 2018 she won the August Prize for Gropen, and was also awarded the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2022 for the same title.
