Christmas at The Seacrow Island/Jul i Snickargården
It’s finally Christmas on Seacrow Island! Grankvist’s trade stall is decorated heavily with santas and people crowd the counter to buy Christmas ham, Christmas coffee and Christmas tree candles. Teddy and Freddy are on Christmas break and Tjorven is practicing waving her ears to show Santa Claus.
For Pelle and the others in the Melkersson family, it is wonderful to be able to celebrate Christmas on the island. To wade in fresh snow, go skiing, look for bird tracks in the snow and cozy up in front of the open fire! But even quiet winter days offer adventure and drama. Why does Pelle tell Tjorven that Santa Claus doesn’t really exist? And how will Pelle protect his beloved rabbit from the fox that roams the island?
Christmas at the Seacrow Island is the fourth picture book about life at Seacrow Island. Astrid Lindgren’s rich and charming tales have been brought to life with Maria Nilsson Thore’s colourful illustrations that beautifully depict the idyllic island life in the Stockholm Archipelago.
