Nature/Naturen
Nature is a story about a little village surrounded by just that – nature. All the villagers love swimming in the summer, sledding in the winter and picking mushrooms in the autumn. Nature is always there, even when the leaves change colour, the water changes temperature and a blanket of snow covers the earth. But what happens when nature doesn’t do what people want it to? When there are snow blizzards, heat waves and torrential rain showers?
Who’s in charge? People or nature? Emma AdBåge cleverly captures the relationship between people and nature from a child’s perspective. What is it we really want?
Emma AdBåge was awarded the August Prize in 2018 for her acclaimed picture book Gropen (The Hole Behind the Gym).
