Pippi Goes Shopping/Pippi går i affärer
On a sunny spring day Pippi heads downtown with Tommy and Annika. Her apron pockets are full of gold coins and she is about to do some serious business! In the perfume shop Pippi says she certainly does not suffer from her freckles, so she doesn’t need a bottle of freckle-cream. The highlight of the day is the candy-store, where Pippi buys eighteen kilos of candy and so many other sweets that she needs a small cart to pull everything. She buys the cart in the toy store next door, and Tommy and Annika and all the other children who have joined Pippi, get to choose their dream toys in there. Then they each get an ocarina that they blow in so much that the police officers have to step in. Before the day is over Pippi has also been to the pharmacy and bought seven bottles of “meducine” and done a whole lot of mischief.
The text is taken from Pippi Goes on Board. It has been slightly abridged. Ingrid Vang Nyman’s pictures have been colored by Björn Hedlund especially for this picture book.
