Pippi Plays Tag with The Police/Pippi leker kull med poliser

Pippi Longstocking has invited Tommy and Annika over for coffee and ginger biscuits on the veranda of Villa Villekulla. The sun is shining and everything is as delightful as can be until two policemen suddenly appear in the garden. They strongly disapprove of a little girl living all alone with a horse and a monkey. 

Pippi is not easily intimidated. When the policemen attempt to take her to a children’s home, the situation quickly turns into a game instead. Soon everyone is running in different directions, up onto the roof and down again, amid laughter and shouts. 

A humorous and high-spirited tale, originally published as a chapter in the chapter book Pippi Longstocking (1945), and now as a picture book with illustrations by Angelika Bodis Nagy in the style of the beloved Ingrid Vang Nyman.
