World’s Worst Detectives – The Bloody Hands/De blodiga händerna

Omar, Siri, Malte, and Adira are the World’s Best Detectives! Well… that’s what their club is called, anyway. They usually meet in Adira’s garage to plan their exciting, secret, and dangerously daring missions. So far, unfortunately, they haven’t solved a single case—it’s actually quite tricky. Where they live, almost nothing ever happens; hardly anyone even picks their nose.

But the gang sets out on an investigation anyway. And suddenly—it happens! They stumble straight into a breathtaking adventure with an angry dog owner, a stolen bicycle, and a crazy murderer! Or…?

The first book in the World’s Worst Detectives series offers giggles, silliness, just the right amount of suspense, and full-speed fun. The comical, colorful illustrations perfectly complement the playful atmosphere.

Swedish Library Service

With fast-paced and lively dialogue—sometimes a bit teasing and age-typical—the gang builds a supposed case that, with funny and spooky twists and just the right amount of suspense, becomes a story that can serve as an introduction to the detective and suspense genre for children who have started reading on their own. /…/ Sandra Fröjd’s illustrations, full of movement (lots of sweat beads!), bright colors, and clear facial expressions and body language, are reminiscent of her work for Kamratposten.

Borås Tidning

Soon the story bursts into a few jokes, and sometimes the suspense is dialed up just the right amount. /…/ This should be both fun and exciting for six- to nine-year-olds. /…/ She [Sandra Fröjd, ed. note] has drawn in a comic-book style—think of a playful comic with characters that are realistic but also carry touches of humor and irony. Her illustrations suit Ingelin Angerborn and Niclas Angerborn’s detective story perfectly for the youngest readers.
