There Aren’t Any Robbers in the Forest/Inga rövare finns i skogen
There Aren’t Any Robbers in the Forest takes place in a dollhouse, where Mimmi the doll has brought the little boy Peter to show that there are definitely robbers in the forest outside. They plan to steal her “pearls of precious value”.
Soon the forty robbers get into the house and Fiolito, the leader, challenges Peter to a sword fight over the pearls. When Peter loses, Fiolito and his forty robbers disappear with the pearls. But, luckily, Mimmi has taken the real once and hidden them – in a completely robber-proof place.
There Aren’t Any Robbers in the Forest was initially included in the story collection Nils Karlsson-Pyssling, first published in 1949. Astrid Lindgren also dramatized the story and it has since been performed as a theatre play on countless stages in Sweden and abroad and also has also been made into several television productions.
